StressCaps™
How it works:
Stress, including general stress, minor anxiety, nervousness, restlessness and irritability. They all produces an excess stress on the whole body. StressCaps is developed by including specific herbs that has a traditional use of promoting relaxation and more inner balance. These herbs have been combined
with magnesium, B-vitamins and vitamin C, which are important nutrients for the nervous system.
Usage: Take one serving, once or twice a day, as needed.
About the ingredients:
Vitamin B complex + Vitamin C:
The B vitamins help to maintain the health of the nerves, skin, eyes, hair, liver and mouth, plus brain function. B-complex vitamins are co-enzymes involved in energy production, and may be useful for alleviating depression or anxiety. Vitamin C is required for adrenal function (a gland that is involved in stressful situations)
and it aids in the production of anti-stress hormones.
Calcium: Important for the maintenance of a regular heartbeat and the transmission of nerve impulses.
Magnesium: A defiency of magnesium interferes with the transmission of nerve and muscle impulses, causing irritability
and nervousness. Possible manifestations of magnesium defiency include insomnia and irritability.
When you are chronically stressed, you can become magnesium deficient. The more stressed you are, the greater the loss of magnesium. The lower your magnesium level to begin with, the more reactive to stress you become and the higher your level of adrenaline in stressful situations. Higher adrenaline causes greater loss of magnesium from cells. Administering magnesium as a nutritional supplement breaks this vicious cycle by raising blood magnesium levels and buffering the response to stress, building your resistance.
Siberian Ginseng (root): An adaptogen, that supports the adrenal glands and increases stress resistance. Scientists believe it may help support normal functioning of the adrenal glands by preventing the depletion of stress-fighting hormones. When we get into a stressful situation, the adrenal glands release corticosteroids and adrenaline, which prepare us for the “fight or flight” reaction. But when these hormones are depleted, our body becomes exhausted. Siberian ginseng delays the exhaustive phase and allows a more economical and efficient release of these hormones. Schisandra (fruit): Schisandra is another adaptogenic herb that has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to improve the ability of the body to respond to stress by promoting energy and alleviate exhaustion caused by stress. Lignans are a main constituent of Schisandra; these compounds are a concentrated component of the seeds of the Schisandra berry. Lignans appear to stimulate the immune system, protect the liver, increase the body’s ability to cope with stress, and may cause a mild sedative effect. (Li XY. Bioactivity of neolignans from fructus Schisandra. Mem Inst Oswaldo Cruz; 86 Suppl 2:31-7, 1991).
Passionflower (herb): Acts as a gentle sedative. Helpful in anxiety, hyperactivity, insomnia and stress-related disorders.
Passion flower has a mild tranquillizing effect. It may also relax blood vessel spasms, which could make it helpful for migraines. Dr. Weil states that passion flower is calming without being sedating and is a useful adjunct to programs of stress reduction, much safer than pharmaceutical tranquillizers.
